Department Short Form is Dept or Dpt
Department short form commonly used is Dept but some time Dpt is also used. In the French language its called département and in the Spanish language its called departamento. The word department was the first time used in France. Department is the 1st level subunit of any government, organization, or institution like in governments there are different types of departments that run the government setup of any country. For example, in any government, there are finance departments, the interior department, the state department, the environment department, the police department, the fire department, etc. In some countries where the British had been ruled in the past, these departments are also called ministries.
