CCIE Full Form is Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert
CCIE stands for Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert. Two types of expert-level certifications offered by the Cisco Systems first is CCIE Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert and second is CCDE Cisco Certified Design Expert. These are the technical certifications offered by Cisco Systems. CCIE is the most distinguished certification in the field of internetworking and recognized worldwide experts. It sets the standard for internetworking.
CCIE is a certification to assess expert-level infrastructure network design skills worldwide. This certification is awarded after passing the rigorous written examination and lab testing that is performance-based. Cisco has various tracks of CCIE certification like Service Provider, Data Center, Security, Routing & Switching, Collaboration, and Wireless. One person may attend multiple tracks for the CCIE certification.
Requirements For the CCIE Certification
CCIE has some core requirements to attend the CCIE exam like a written exam and lab. Candidate must understand the core topics of internetworking and get in-depth knowledge. Then-candidate must have 5 years of job experience. Then he must pass the written exam of 120 minutes after passing the written exam candidate apply for the lab test. In the past, the lab test was 2 days duration but nowadays it is one day means 8 hours. This lab tests breakdown into different modules like troubleshooting, configuring, and diagnostics of internetworking.
Candidate must initially attempt the lab test within 18 months if not successful then again reaper within 12 months after the initial attempt. A lab test is required to pass within 3 years of passing the written exam. If a candidate is unable to pass the lab test after passing the written test then he must reaper in the written exam and pass it.
