August short form is Aug. It is the eighth month of Julian and Gregorian calendar and its length of days are 31. It is the 5th month from 7 months of 31 days. It comes after July and before the month of September. It was named after the Roman ruler Augustus.
August start on the same day of the week as February start in the leap year. But in any common year the day it starts do not start any month on the same day of the week. As per meterological point of view August is equilent to February in north and south hemisphere.
